Monochromatic colors are all the colors (tints, tones, and shades) of a single hue.

Monochromatic color schemes are derived from a single base hue, and extended using its shades, tones and tints.

As a result, the energy is more subtle and peaceful due to a lack of contrast of hue.

Join me for the

“One Crayon Color Challenge”!

A lot of times I need a creative spark of some kind as inspiration to get my creativity flowing!   Don’t you?   I thought that this hop would be fun because you are simply picking one of the eight crayon colors listed below as your inspiration to create something with the hues of that color!  That’s it!  ONE COLOR and the HUES OF THAT COLOR!  What a fun way to get inspired!  Are you ready to sign up?

 Here’s the details:

• The hop will be Saturday, May 5th, 2012.

• Sign ups are open until 11:59pm EST on April 5th, 2012 or when we hit 60 65 (and that’s it!  I mean it!) participants.

• You pick one of the 8 basic crayon colors:  red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown or black

• Create a monochromatic design with the color you chose and a few or a lot of that color’s hues.

• The hop in open to Artists of any medium: create a piece of jewelry, create a set of beads, a painting, mixed media collage, fiber art and on and on…

• To keep the hop manageable it is open to only 60 65 participants!
